The other day I found a link in my inbox to a website on... grass?! The link was more specifically to a do-it-yourself grass clock developed on vertical garden concepts which immediately aroused my curiosity and launched an investigation of this new and to me unknown kind of 'green design'.

Located South of London in a town called Wallington, BedZED (Beddington Zero Energy Development) is UK’s first and largest eco-village. The multi award-winning project was initiated by the environmental organisation BioRegional and was designed by Bill Dunster Architects. Completed in 2002, the development illustrates the capabilities of present-day environmental technologies and demonstrates that a sustainable lifestyle can be achieved without compromising the characteristics associated with modern urban living.
