Save energy - switch to green power

When you switch the lights on, think about when you can turn it off again.

Switching on the lights or any other innumerable electricity dependent technology in our home is an action we hardly pay attention to. Electricity has become a bare necessity of life, somewhat like water, toilet paper or milk. Not a luxury we pay tribute to every hour of the day.

A large amount of carbon dioxide emissions, the main greenhouse gas that causes climate change, actually stem from the things we do every day that cost energy.
Renewable energy technologies like solar panels, wind turbines, and biomass heaters are becoming increasingly popular and are increasingly becoming a part of the local or national energy providing strategy.

By remembering to turn the switch off instead of turning it on and leaving it on for hours even though we are not there, we are able to save a lot of energy in our everyday life. Do not leave the lights on when no one is in the room for more than five minutes. Turn off the TV when no one is watching it. The same goes for computers, radios and stereos. Switch off the main switch not just the remote. Leaving electricity devices on stand by consumes energy. Turning off the main switch does not.

Buy energy efficient light bulbs – replacing one incandescent bulb already saves energy. Reusing items instead of replacing them saves the energy of producing new items.

It is also a good idea to ask your energy supplier for renewable energy. More and more energy companies in various parts of the world do in fact provide the choice of renewable energy.
